Abstract:
PURPOSE:To exactly detect an air flow rate when the air flow rate is within a range of a prescribed value by setting the inside diameter of an inner venturi to 4-6 times of a step difference between a flow rate sensor and a thin film resistance of a temperature compensation use sensor. CONSTITUTION:A flow rate sensor 6 is constituted of a heating coil, and placed so that its center is positioned on the center axis of an inner venturi 2. A tem perature compensation sensor 7 consists of a supporting plate 7D and a thin plate resistance 7A formed thereon, and placed at the upper stream side of an air flow than the sensor 6 so that the resistance 7A becomes parallel to the direction of the air flow passing through the inside of the inner venturi 2. Also, the inside diameter J of the inner venturi 2 is set to four times to six times of a step difference K between the sensor 6 and the thin film resis tance 7A of the sensor 7. In such a way, when the air flow quantity passing through the inside of an air flow meter is within a use range (2-100g/sec) when the flow meter is loaded on a vehicle, the air flow rate can be detected exactly.
