Abstract:
PURPOSE: To decrease the change of the air-fuel ratio at the time of judging the leakage and nullify ill influence due to the shift of the air-fuel ratio by adding the predicted correction amount set previously to the fuel supply amount in synchronization with closing of an atmosphere opening/closing valve when the leak judging condition is met.
CONSTITUTION: An internal combustion engine 2 is equipped with a canister 12 in a communication path 10 leading from a suction passage 4 to a fuel tank 8, and an atmosphere opening/closing valve 14 is installed on this canister 12. A purge valve 20 is installed on a communication path 16 leading from the suction passage 4 to the canister 12, and a pressure sensor 26 is furnished in a communication path 18 leading from the canister 12 to the fuel tank 8. The valve 14 is closed, and the internal pressure of the fuel tank 8 is sunk, and the purge valve 20 is closed, and then the leak condition of the evaporation system is judged. When the leak judging condition is met, a control part 30 works to add the predicted correction amount set previously to the fuel supply amount in synchronization with the closing of the valve 14.
