To provide an air sorter which allows air to flow to a mixture of heavy materials and light materials to separate the heavy materials from the light materials.
This air sorter includes an approximately cylindrical casing 10, a funnel form member 11 which is located in the upper zone within the casing 10 to receive a mixture of heavy materials and light materials, a second funnel-form member 12 which is located in the lower zone in the casing 10 and which forms a first gap X between the outer edge 12c of a large diameter part 12a of the member 12 and the casing 10 and has a small diameter part 12b to discharge the heavy materials, a chute 13 which has an inclined surface 13a between the member 11 and the member 12 in the casing 10 and forms a second gap Y between the outer edge 13c of the chute 13 and the casing 10, a flow inlet port 14 which is located below the member 12 in the casing 10 to admit air, and a discharge port 15 which is located below the member 11 in the casing 10 to discharge the light materials together with the air admitted from the port 14.
