Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alcohol-decomposing composition having strong alcohol- decomposing action, decomposing alcohol inside the stomach and preventing excess alcohol absorption by freeze-drying an acetic acid bacterium decomposing alcohol below a specific acidic pH and mixing the dried microbes therein.
SOLUTION: An acetic acid bacterium decomposing alcohol below pH3 (e.g.; Acetobacter aceti IFO 3281, etc.) is cultured and separated to the culture medium and the bacterial cells by centrifugation, to collect the cells. The cells are freeze- dried and made to powder, and the powdery material is formulated to a powder agent, a tablet, a capsule agent, a granule, a liquid agent or a drink, etc., by adding additives such as an extending agent, an excipient, etc., according to shapes of the formulation products to obtain the objective alcohol-decomposing composition. The composition has a strong alcohol-decomposing action and when taken in drinking of alcohol or before the drinking, alcohol is oxidized to acetic acid through acetaldehyde by the acetic acid bacterium inside the stomach, thus excess alcohol absorption is prevented.
