Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a compound( derivative ) capable of selectively obtaining in high yield while suppressing environmental destruction under mild conditions a specific stereoisomer of a vic-diol compound as a useful derivative capable of synthesizing various compounds in a technical field including agricultural and industrial chemicals.

The method for producing the compound, i.e. an alkenyl cyclic boronic ester compound of general formula(II), comprises carrying out a reaction between an alkenyl epoxide compound of general formula(I)[ wherein, R1 is a (substituted) vinyl; and R2 to R4 are each H, an alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, carboxy, acyl, alkoxycarbonyl or aryl, wherein R2 is fewer than R1 in the number of carbon atoms, and R4 is the same as or fewer than R3 in the number of carbon atoms ] and a boronic acid compound or boric acid in the presence of a palladium compound.
