Title:
ALLOY FOR INERT GAS ARC BUILD-UP WELDING OF HOT WORKING ROLL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6015090
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a titled alloy which is improved in resistance to oxidation, corrosion and thermal cracking by specifying the content of C, Si, Mn and Cr in steel.

CONSTITUTION: An alloy consists of by weight, 0.02W0.15% C, 0.1W1.0% Si, 0.1W 2.0% Mn and 8.0W15.0% Cr, contains if necessary ≥ 1 kind of 0.5W3.5% Ni and 0.1W1.5% Mo and the balance Fe. Such alloy is capable of improving remarkably the resistance to thermal cracking without decreasing hardness as compared to a 13Cr steel material. The alloy is therefore eminently excellent as a build-up material for a hot working roll having a build-up weld layer on the surface with which the resistance to thermal cracking is considered the extremely important property to determine the life thereof.
