Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy-ceramic composite material having a modulus of longitudinal elasticity adjusted in a predetermined range while having strength equal to or more than conventional ones, and a production method enabling such aluminum alloy-ceramic composite to be produced at low cost.SOLUTION: There is provided the ceramic-aluminum alloy composite material which has a plurality of SiC particles, a matrix composed of an aluminum alloy formed in gaps between the plurality of SiC particles and having an area ratio of 25 to 50% and oxide particles formed in the matrix and mainly containing Al and Mg, and in which the aluminum alloy constituting the matrix is composed of Si:2.5 to 13 mass%, Mg:1 o 8 mass% and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, an area ratio of the oxide particles to total area of area of the SiC particles and area of the oxide particles is 1 to 20%, an average particle diameter of equivalent circle of the SiC particle is 60 to 200 μm and an average particle diameter of equivalent circle of the oxide particles is 10 to 200 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
