To obtain the subject new compound having excellent antibacterial action on Helicobacter pylori and capable of exhibiting strong antibacterial action in digestive tract.
This compound is a compound of formula I (R1 is a 3-8C cycloalkyl, a 6-14C aryl, a heterocyclic residue or the like; R2 and R3 are independently H, a 1-5C alkyl or the like; R4 and R5 are independently H or a 1-5C alkyl; R6 is H, a 1-5C alkyl, a 1-5C alkoxy or hydroxyl group) or its salt or solvate thereof, e.g. N-(3-methylcarbamoylphenyl)-3- chlorophenylacetoamide. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a carboxylic acid derivative of formula II with a condensing agent such as dicyclohexylcarbodimide to activate carboxylic acid and then, reacting the reaction product with an aniline derivative of formula III. The compound is useful for treatment and/or prevention of various digestive system diseases such as gastritis and gastric ulcer in which infection of Helicobacter pylori participates.
