PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide amine cationic lipids, and their formulations and their use in delivery of therapeutic drugs for nucleic acid molecules and the like into a cell.SOLUTION: This invention relates to compounds expressed by formula (I). (Rand Rare each independently, optionally substituted C11-24 alkyl or the like; Ris H or optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl; and Ris optionally substituted C3-7 heterocyclyl or the like). The compounds include a class of cationic lipids having an amine moiety, such as an amino-amine or an amino-amide moiety. The lipid compounds are useful for in vivo or in vitro delivery of one or more agents (e.g., a polyanionic payload or an antisense payload, such as an RNAi agent).SELECTED DRAWING: None
