PURPOSE: To provide a new compound useful for the treatment or prevention of myocardial infarction, thrombosis or the like as an antiplatelet aggregation agent and of glaucoma or the like as a depressor of intraocular pressure.
CONSTITUTION: This compound of formula I {X is S, O or the like of α-formula or in β-configuration; X1 is 1-5C straight-chain or branched alkelene, 3-5C straight-chain or branched alkenylene or the like; X2 is cyano, carboxyl or the like; Z1 is NH-CH2-R3, N=CH-R3 [R3 is CO-Y, CH(Y1)Y (Y is 3-8C alkyl, 3-8C alkenyl or the like; Y1 is H, hydroxy or the like)]; Z2 is H, 1-12C alkyl or the like}, its salt, its ester and the other derivatives, e.g. 5-(3- carboxypropylthio)1-(2-cyclohexyl-2-hydroxyethylamino)-hexahydrocyclopenta(d) imidazole-2(1H)-one} is obtained by reacting a compound of formula X2-X1-X-H with a compound of formula II (A is leaving group in α- or β-configuration) in the presence of a base.
