Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve the effective utilization of energy, the improvement of treatment efficiency and the stabilization of operation by providing an acid forming tank, a methane forming tank, a vacuum tank, a means returning the liquid of the vacuum tank to the acid forming tank and a means recovering hydrogen from the gaseous phase discharged from the vacuum tank.
CONSTITUTION: In a two-tank reaction type anaerobic treatment apparatus equipped with an acid forming tank 1 and a methane forming tank 2, a part of the outflow solution of the acid forming tank 1 is received in the vacuum container 3 to be held under a vacuum condition to separate dissolved hydrogen. Therefore, the concn. of the acid forming tank 1 can be controlled to concn. suitable for the formation of acetic acid and the accumulation of butyric acid and propionic acid caused by the accumulation of hydrogen in the acid forming tank 1 and the stop of the formation of acetic acid are prevented and the decomposition of an acid is smoothly advanced in the acid forming tank 1 to efficiently produce acetic acid. Acetic acid formed in the acid forming tank 1 by the sufficient decomposition of an org. component is subjected to methane fermentation in the methane forming tank 2 to be efficiently treated to efficiently recover methane. Hydrogen separated in the vacuum container 3 is efficiently recovered by a hydrogen occluding metal 4A.
