Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce tilting moment acting upon an anchor member by fastening a seat part of the anchor member to the outer face side of a back plate in a device for fastening the anchor member having a shank supporting adjacent ends of a pair of brake shoes, to the back plate.
SOLUTION: An anchor member 3 for supporting upper adjacent ends of a pair of brake shoes 4, 5 in a brake drum is erectly provided at the upper part of a back plate 1 and a back plate stiffener 2. Shoe return springs 6, 6 are provided between the anchor member 3 and the respective brake shoes 4, 5 so as to energize the upper adjacent ends of the brake shoes 4, 5 toward the anchor member 3. The anchor member 3 is composed of a seat part 3a arranged on the outer surface 1b side of the back plate 1, and a shank 3b for supporting the upper adjacent ends of the brake shoes 4, 5. Tilting moment acting upon the anchor member 3 is therefore reduced.
