To suppress field angle variation of an output image in accordance with change of a focal position without restricting a transfer range of a zoom position.
The field angle variation in accordance with transfer of a focal lens is excluded by electronic zoom. This field angle compensation device obtains the output image by magnifying a partial image of an input image (photographed image) according to set electronic zoom magnification. Within the whole transfer range of the focal lens, when the focal lens is arranged in the closest edge position for giving the minimum field angle, the electronic zoom magnification is considered as 1.00 power. As the focal lens is transferred from the closest edge position to the infinite edge side, the electronic zoom magnification is increased from 1.00 power so that the field angle variation in accordance with transfer may be excluded.
