To provide an animal detection system which can detect the direction of an animal without bearing an equipment and the like when the animal invades in an approximately certain range.
The animal detection system has a non-directional antenna 21 and a directional antenna 22 for receiving electric waves transmitted from a transmitter 1 to be attached to the animal, wherein the directional antenna 22 is in a non-operated state when the non-directional antenna 21 does not receive an electric wave from the transmitter 1, while the directional antenna 22 is switched into an operated state when the non-directional antenna 21 receives the electric wave, whereby the direction of the transmitter 1 (animal) to the directional antenna 22 can be detected on the basis of the receiving information of the directional antenna 22.
