Abstract:
PURPOSE:To connect even coding for which a different inverse conversion computing element is used by executing a refreshing operation for the coding so that a refreshing cycle can be variable adaptively. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal decoded at a decoder at a receiving side is stored through an inverse quantizer and an IDCT circuit into a frame memory 302. Refreshing processing is periodically executed, in which the frame memory 302 is updated in order to suppress a mismatch error. The necessary refreshing cycle is adaptively determined by a parameter to indicate the actual condition of the coding and the cumulative characteristics of the mismatch error for the CODEC of the other party.
