Abstract:
To provide an anisotropic dye film composed of polymer membrane containing dye, having specific structure of the dye, and therefor having excellent optical performance, in particular, sufficient dichroic ratio, heat resistance and light resistance.SOLUTION: The anisotropic dye film is composed of polymer membrane containing dye, and the dye is represented in the form of free acid by the following formula (1). In the formula (1), A1, A2 and A3 each independently represent phenylene group which may have substituent. A4 represents aromatic heterocyclic group which may have substituent.
