Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the cost and to make the profile thin by eliminating the need for a rotary joint in a plane antenna system.
CONSTITUTION: A plane antenna 1 is placed on a waveguide 3 through a bearing 2. A converter 5 is placed on a base plate 6 separately from the antenna 1 and connected to the waveguide 3. The antenna 1 and the waveguide 3 are connected to a coaxial member 4. The antenna 1 is driven by a motor 10 through the bearing 2 to track a satellite. Or a signal loss is reduced by adopting the configuration that only an upper plate of the antenna is driven.
