PURPOSE: To make effective beam pointing possible for a portable antenna or an antenna for moving body in accordance with easy operation procedures with a simple constitution by changing the radiation directivity so as to gradually stepwise or continuously raise the directivity gain.
CONSTITUTION: Low-noise amplifiers(LNA) 1003 to 1005 are connected to antenna elements 1000 to 1002 respectively. Variable phase shifters 1006 to 1008 and switches 1009 to 1011 are connected following LNAs, and extents of phase shift of variable phase shifters and on/off of switches are set by the control signal generated from a control circuit 1013. When the switch is turned on, a reception signal is synthesized in a synthesizer 1012 and is inputted to a reception equipment 1014. When the switch is turned off, terminals on the antenna side and the synthesizer side are connected to a reflectionless terminal 1039. Thus, the antenna beam is gradually sharpened to raise the gain, and finally, the beam having a desired gain is directed to the radio wave coming direction.
