PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of false echo by coating an antenna main body with an electric wave absorber matched to a radar frequency to reduce the reflection from the antenna even in case of a radio wave is emitted from a radar.

CONSTITUTION: Against a microwave band radar, the surface of a metallic bar-shaped or pipe-shaped rod antenna 4 used as an HF of VHF band communication antenna are coated with an electric wave absorber 5 for microwave band which is matched to the radar frequency and has a prescribed thickness. When the radar wave is made incident on the rod antenna 4, the reflection quantity is considerably reduced because its surface is coated with the absorbner 5 matched to the radar frequency.
