Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the fear of contaminating the environment, reduce the consumption of energy at low running cost in a method and a device for preventing the adhesion of marine organisms on an intake line in the case of using sea water as cooling water.
SOLUTION: A conductive sheet 3 is lined on the surface of a body 1 to be antifouled composed of a conductive substance, and the sheet is used as an anode, and an electrode material 4 provided separately is used as a cathode, and weak current not generating chloride is allowed to flow, and electric shock is applied to microbes which come into contact with the conductive sheet 3 in a device for preventing the adhesion of microbes, and power is applied intermittently for a period of time of at least 1/6 length in the time of one unit of at most 48 hours in a manner that the one power-application is not less than one hour.
