Abstract:
To provide an inexpensive antifungal agent, a resin having an antifungal effect, and a mold suppression method, which is effective against black molds growing in a bathroom, lavatory, etc., is biologically safe and does not damage fabrics such as clothes.
Cysteine is used as an active ingredient imparting an antifungal effect. Propagation of molds can be prevented or controlled by mixing cysteine with the antifungal agent, a mold remover detergent, the resin, etc. and applying them to a moldy area. The antifungal agent, the mold remover detergent, the resin, etc. comprising cysteine are preferably used against molds belonging to genera Cladosporium, Alternaria, or Aureobasidium.
