Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel drugs for treating fungal infections and therapeutic methods using the same.SOLUTION: The invention provides a novel echinocandin class compound modified so as to have: (i) activity against one or more fungal species or genera; (ii) increased water solubility and/or amphiphilicity; (iii) increased therapeutic index; (iv) suitability for topical administration; (v) suitability for intravenous administration; (vi) increased distribution volume; and/or (vii) increased elimination half life. The invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound as well as a treating method using the compound.SELECTED DRAWING: None
