To impart antimicrobial and antifungal functions with heat, corrosion and scuff resistances to a glass, a porcelain enamel or a pottery without deteriorating the heat, corrosion and scuff resistances thereof and perpetuate the functions.

This antimicrobial and antifungal sintered melt is produced by compounding an antimicrobial and antifungal agent which is a solid solution, having a higher melting point than that of a body of a glass, a porcelain enamel or a pottery or a glaze and further heat, corrosion and scuff resistances and consisting essentially of an oxide of a group I to III metal with the body of the glass, porcelain enamel or pottery or glaze.
