Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an antiretroviral agent, containing 9-[cis-3(hydroxymethyl) cyclobutyl]adenine and a salt thereof and capable of powerfully inhibiting proliferation of retroviruses.
CONSTITUTION: An antiretroviral agent containing a compound expressed by the formula and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as active ingredients. The aforementioned compound can be used as a proliferation or infection inhibitor for treating and preventing human acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, especially AIDS, adult T cell leukemia, etc., and the dose thereof is preferably 5-500mg for an adult (body weight; 60kg) per day.
