PURPOSE: To produce superconductor which is stable and has high critical current density, by controlling pulverized superconductive compounds at desired temperatures, placing them in a DC magnetic field to concentrate the superconductive phases thereof, utilizing magnetic levitation phenomenon due to Meissner effect.
CONSTITUTION: Pulverized superconductive compounds are controlled to a desired temperatures in a vacuum vessel 1 by means of temperature control unit 11 and placed in a DC magnetic field by means of an electromagnet 3 so as to be magnetically lifted upward by Meissner effect. By holding the electromagnet 3 at an inclined angle, the superconductive phases are caused to fall on a sample saucer 5 by gravity, whereby the superconductive phases are separated and concentrated. As a result, superconductive compounds of single phase can be easily obtained, so that superconductor which is stable and has high critical current density can be produced with high reproducibility.
