PURPOSE: To improve the productivity and quality of a molding system and method in which mixed production of many kinds of products is feasible with the use of more than one cavity units by conducting gradual cooling efficiently.

CONSTITUTION: More than one cavity units 1, each having a pair of molds to form a cavity inside, is transferred in the order of a given heating station 2, filling and relaxation station 3, gradual cooling station 4, and molded product taking-out station 5 to mold a resin molded product with a shape corresponding to the cavity. The gradual cooling station 4 comprises a gradual cooling stage in which the cavity unit 1 is cooled gradually and a cooling stage in which the cavity unit 1 is cooled at a cooling speed different from that in the gradual cooling stage while the temperature distribution in the cavity is being kept uniform.
