PURPOSE: To automatically set the control condition corresponding to the kind of a machine by detecting the marker composed of a magnet or bar code provided to a rotary sorting cylinder at the start time of rotation and discriminating the kind of a machine or a rotary direction on the basis of the detection signal.
CONSTITUTION: In a hulling sorter 1, a rotary sorting cylinder 2 is placed on a pair of left and right rotary rolls 3 in a freely detachable manner and rotated. Magnets M1, M2 are mounted to the outer periphery of the sorting cylinder 2 so as to be separated by an angle α1 in standard use and by an angle α2 in small particle use corresponding to the kinds of machines and lead switches S1, S2 are arranged in opposed relationship so as to be separated by an angle θ (θ>α). When the rotation of the rotary sorting cylinder 2 is started, the passage of the magnets M1, M2 is detected by the lead switches S1, S2 and the angle α1 or α2, that is, the kind of a machine is discriminated from the passage time between lead switches S1, S2 of the magnet M1 or M2 and the time from M1 to M2 detected by the switch S1 or S2. Further, a rotary direction is discriminated from the operation order of the switches S1, S2. By this method, a control condition can be set automatically and the abnormality of the rotary direction can be prevented.
