PURPOSE: To obtain an apparatus for direct addition of solid ferrocene to fuels by comprising the apparatus a grinder being filled with solid ferrocene connected to a fuel conduit or a fuel tank and control means for a step motor driving the grinder in order to improve fuel consumption and reduce exhaust gas pollution.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus comprises a grinder 2 together with connected to a fuel conduit 3 or a fuel tank 7 and being filled at least partly with solid ferrocene, and a control means 20 for driving a step motor 14 driving the grinder. At first amounts of fuels flowing through the fuel conduit 3 are measured. Then the required amount of ferrocene is determined and the corresponding number of revolution of the grinder 2 is determined. Finally, the previously determined amount of ferrocene is added by driving the step motor 14 and the grinder 2. By the method, reduction of the fuel consumption and pollution emission can be attained by adding ferrocene directly to the fuels flowing in the fuel conduit 3.
