Abstract:

To achieve a higher diagnosing accuracy by extracting a mammary gland (specimen) from an ultrasonic echo obtained using an ultrasonic probe equipped with a three-dimensional position sensor to perform a diagnosis of a cancer of the breast for identifying the benignancy or malignancy of a tumor from the three-dimensional shape (three-dimensional image).

A three-dimensional position sensor 13 is mounted on a probe 12 for generating a probe data 12a scanning the surface of a specimen 20 to generate a coordinate data by measuring the position and the attitude of the probe 12. A three-dimensional image obtaining apparatus 10 is also provided with a tracking means 14 to collect the probe data 12a and the probe coordinate data 13a, a three-dimensional coordinate conversion means 15 to generate a three-dimensional image data 15a using the data 12a and 13a and a three- dimensional voxel data generation means 16 by which the three-dimensional image data 15a is converted to an isotropic voxel data 16a by linear image interpolation to define a mean of the plurality of data as voxel data 16a.
