PURPOSE: To stably produce a strip having good quality by setting an intermedi ate vessel having slit-like opening at bottom part between a pouring basin on a pair of rolls and a pouring vessel and supplying molten metal into the pouring basin from the slit-like opening.
CONSTITUTION: The molten metal is continuously poured on one pair of rolls 1a, 1b from the pouring vessel 6 above one pair of twin rolls 1a, 1b. This molten metal is continuously cast as the strip 5 through the gap between rolls while cooling with circumferential faces of the rolls 1a, 1b. Then, a hollow vessel 7 having the slit-like opening along width direction of the strip 5 is set between the pouring vessel 6 and the pouring basin 2 on the one pair of rolls 1a, 1b. After once receiving the molten metal stream in the intermediate vessel 7, the molten metal is supplied into the pouring basin 2 as strip-like stream through the slit-like opening. By this method, the strip having good quality can be stably produced.
