Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an optimum flow of catalyst particles in an early step after the catalyst particles flow in a riser reactor and to improve the yield of the reaction product by providing an inlet means through which the catalyst particles are introduced to the reactor and a fluidizing means in an upstream part of a housing and forming a catalyst particles passage having a special shape in a downstream part of the housing.
CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for introducing catalyst particles into a moving bed of catalyst comprises a fluidizing means 9 in an annular shape or the like and an inlet means 2 in an upstream part of a housing 1 and a guide means 3 and a device 8 (a fluid feeding means) in a downstream part of the housing 1. The fluidizing means 9 has openings 10 which emit fluidizing gas introduced through a fluidizing gas inlet means 11. The catalyst particles are introduced through the inlet means 2. The guide means 3 forms an annular passage 4 having an upwardly converging width between an inner wall of the housing and a wall of the guide means and preferably a continued passage 4 having an upwardly diverging width between the walls. The device 8 (the fluid feeding means) is a device which feeds a moving bed 7 for a catalyst and hydrocarbon raw material to the riser reactor. A mass off catalyst particles which are introduced into the housing 1 and fluidized is accelerated in the passage 4 and enters the moving bed 7 and sufficiently mixed with the raw material which flows in with high speed through the device 8.
