PURPOSE: To efficiently and stably produce electrophotographic sensitive bodies by partitioning a rotary disk with inside and outside shielding plates along the rotating plane of supporting shafts of said disk to form a shielded space and introducing the vapor from an evaporating source into said space.
CONSTITUTION: The inside shielding plate 6 and the outside shielding plate 7 are disposed on both sides of the circular orbital plane below the revolving circular orbitary plane where supporting shafts 3 revolve according to the rotation of the rotary disk 2 in a vacuum vessel. The plates 6, 7 are formed to such a size at which always ≥2 pieces of the shafts 3 revolving in the shielded space formed by the plates exist therein. A slit 8 is provided on the outside plate 7 to introduce the vapor of the photoconductive material evaporating from the evaporating source 5 into the shielded space so that the vapor is deposited by evaporation on the surface of cylindrical substrates 4 passing the inside of the shielded space under rotation and revolution. The electrophotographic sensitive bodies are efficiently produced by the above- mentioned mechanism with the decreased variance of the characteristics.
