Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problem that obtaining of high quality powder is difficult, caused by the contamination with impurities and a pollution from the air atmosphere in the conventional apparatus for producing metallic powder by flowing down a molten metal into a cooling liquid in a cylindrical body for cooling and rapidly cooling and solidifying.
SOLUTION: A lower chamber 4 surrounding a cylindrical body 22 for cooling is arranged and constituted so as to obtain an inert gas atmosphere by vacuum gas-replacing in this chamber 4. In such a case, a frame 15 for supporting the cylindrical body 22 for cooling is supported with a base table 11 by penetrating the bottom plate 29 of the lower chamber 4, and a vacuum seal mechanism permitting relative slide shifting of the bottom plate 29 to the frame 15 is arranged at this penetrating position. By this method, even if strain caused by pressure difference between the inside and the outside on the bottom plate 29 at the time of evacuating the chamber 4 is developed, the frame 15 is held at the static state. As a result, the dislocation of the cylindrical body 22 for cooling is not occurred and a metallic powder excellent in the quality can stably be produced.
