PURPOSE: To set or reset readily the position of a die of an extruder without creating deviated thickness, by allowing the reference coordinates for resetting sensors to be readily obtained.
CONSTITUTION: The end of a measuring gage block 10 extends outward from a side opening 11 of a crosshead body 1. The projected forward end constitutes a first planar measuring surface 12, and its upper surface constitutes a second measuring surface 13 normal to the first measuring surface 12. Measuring elements 16 of the first and second sensors 14, 15 abut normally on the measuring surfaces 12, 13. By operating eccentricity adjusting bolts 9, 9' to adjust the position of the die 4, the eccentricity of the die 4 can be quantitatively measured by the sensors 14, 15. The sensors are abutted on the reference gage block 17 to carry out the resetting, and then the sensor is moved toward the measuring gage block 10 to measure the quantity of the movment of the measuring gage block 10, so that the eccentricity of the die can be measured accurately.
