To provide an apparatus for treating food materials designed to suppress a temperature rise of a food dough according to continuous operation for a long period and improve the production efficiency by taking the presence of disadvantages into consideration in the apparatus for treating the food materials comprising exothermic sites arranged around feed pipes.
Agitators 31 are rotated and driven between the feed pipe 20 and the feed pipe 22. In the process, heat is generated in a gear 25. A ventilation passage 27 is formed between the gear 25 and the agitators 31. Cold air is made to flow through the ventilation passage 27 to prevent influences of the heat on the food materials in the feed pipes. Heat generated in the gear 25 can efficiently be liberated to the outside by making the cold air flow therethrough.
