Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous binder which has good flowability and can form a cold-laid asphalt paving mixture not suffering from the separation of a binder and the settlement or segregation of an aggregate when it is mixed with the aggregate.
SOLUTION: There are provided an aqueous binder comprising an aqueous asphalt emulsion (A), a water-soluble epoxy compound (B), a water-soluble amine compound (D), and a thixotropant (X), and a cold-laid asphalt paving mixture comprising the aqueous binder and an aggregate (E). It is desirable that the thixotropant X is at least one member selected from the group consisting of methylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose, cement, silica sand, calcium carbonate, silicic anhydride, and a polymer emulsion.
