Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an aqueous dispersion comprising a specific saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer and a specified copolymer in a specific ratio, not causing troubles such as environmental pollution, having a high solid content concentration, excellent in the dispersion stability, film-formability, gas barrier property and smell-holding property, and useful as a coating agent, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective aqueous dispersion comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of an saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer component having an ethylene content of 20-60mol.% and a degree of saponification of ≥95%, and (B) 2-30 pts.wt. of a copolymer having a polyether component as a block state or graft state and insoluble in water at the ordinary temperature, such as polyether- modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol block copolymer.
