PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy to eliminate an obstruction of a short distance by calculating the information on a lens driving in accordance with the outputs from a means for giving preference to the measured value of the short distance, means for giving preference to a central measured value and means for making light of the prescribed measured value.
CONSTITUTION: The distance measured values from an upper left distance measuring system 1, a central distance measuring system 2 and a lower right distance measuring system 3 with respect to the visual field of a finder are inputted to a microprocessor 4. A selecting means 9 selects 9 one from the outputs added with the output from the means 5 for giving preference to the measured value of the shortest distance, the means 6 for giving preference to the central measured value when the central measured value is about middle, and the preference limiting means 7 which makes light of the prescribed measured value and further preferably the output of the means 8 for giving preference to the measured values on both sides. A calculating means 10 calculates the information on the lens driving from the selected measured value and the lens is focused to an adequate distance by a focus adjustment driving system 11, by which the photographing is executed.
