PURPOSE: To provide the subject unit designed to automatically determine, based on spinning conditions, the full package diameter corresponding to a desired full package length dispensing with trial spinning.
CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer 2 constituting the objective arithmetic unit 1 is equipped with (A) a CPU 3, (B) a program memory 4, (C) an input device 5 for spinning conditions such as lift length, shoulder angle, number of coils per unit length, roving length to be wound to full package and the diameter increment for wound roving at each layer, and (D) a working memory 6 to temporarily store the inputted data, etc., in the device 5. The objective system 1 is monolithically incorporated with a display 7 in the form of a liquid crystal screen.
