To provide a neural network rich in the power of expression or flexibility and fast in learning by controlling external input different from synapse input from input artificial neurons while using the neural network composed of the artificial neurons.
Receivers 108, 109, 110, 111 and 112 for receiving and holding only specified external input signals are provided in a cell body part 101 and a synapse part 106. The external input receiving bodies 108, 109 and 110 installed parallel to the synapse part are made to act on the rear synapse part of a parallel input artificial neuron 104. Besides, the neural network is selectively used like the synapse parts 108, 109 and 110 or external input receiving bodies 111 and 112 which act on the cell body 101 so as to respond to respectively different kinds of external input information. Thus, the neural network rich in the power of expression or flexibility and fast in learning can be provided.
