Title:
ARTIFICIAL RETINA AND ARTIFICIAL VISUAL SENSATION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3171647
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the artificial retina necessary for easily recognizing plural objects to be recognized at a high speed from images contg. these objects and the artificial visual sensation device constituted by using this artificial retina.
CONSTITUTION: This device has an imaging means 2, an artificial eyeball 3 which has the artificial retina 1 consisting of first artificial retina cells for detecting a boundary between brightness and darkness by optical filtering disposed in a central visual field 1a and second artificial retina cells for detecting an object position by optical filtering disposed in a peripheral visual field 1b, a neural network 4 which recognizes the patterns of the object by receiving the information detected by the first artificial retina cells, a means which determines the object to be recognized next from the information detected by the second artificial retina cells of the artificial retina 1 and an artificial eyeball moving means 5 which moves the artificial eyeball 3 toward this object to be recognized. The specific object to be recognized is selected easily at a high speed from the images including the plural objects to be recognized, by which the specific object is easily recognized.
