Title:
ASEPTIC TREATMENT OF ALLOGRAFT BONE AND TISSUE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03170156
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To avoid harmful action caused by bactericidal treatment of high-level toxicity and provide asepic products having the best structural completion, biomechanical properties, and bioactivity by adding aseptic cleaning to the bactericidal treatment which is sufficient to kill microbes but insufficient to cause physical, chemical, and biological disorder. CONSTITUTION: An allograft bone or tissue is bactericidally treated by such a method that kills microbes but substantially giving no harmful effects on physical, chemical, and biological properties such as osteogenetic performance of the bone tissue. Low-level radiation, especially low-level gamma ray radiation, is cited as a desirable bactericidal treatment. The obtained bactericided bone or tissue is aseptically cleaned and treated so as to have no substantially dead bacteria nor other microbes and at the same time to have no pyrogen. As aseptic cleaning treatment, there are treatment cleaned by water, preferably aseptic water for injection, debridement for removing soft tissue and adhesion, and treatment for adjusting a shape.
