To obtain an asphalt composition as a new binder, capable of providing a pavement excellent in durability including abrasion resistance, fluid resistance and crack resistance even if the binder is used for either of the dense grain size and open grain size mixture, and capable of enabling the production of the mixture at a temperature lower than that for the conventional asphalt.
This asphalt composition consists essentially of an asphalt, a polyurethane-polyisocyanate prepolymer, and a petroleum-based formulated oil and/or a lubrication oil. The production method comprises a first step for mixing the asphalt with the petroleum-based formulated oil and/or the lubrication oil, and a second step for mixing the mixture obtained by the first step with the polyurethane-polyisocyanate prepolymer. The mixture for the pavement under a severe condition, consisting essentially of the asphalt composition and an aggregate, and further the pavement constructed by using such the mixture for the pavement under the severe condition are also provided.
