To obtain an asphalt composition that has a good elongation, flexibility and adhesion and is suitable in use for road pavement.
This asphalt composition consists of 0.5-50 pts.wt. of a composition (1) comprising a modified polymer or its hydrogenated product that is prepared by the addition reaction, using an organolithium compound as a polymerization catalyst, of a functional group-containing modifier with a living terminal of at least one kind of polymer selected from (a) and (b), wherein, (a) is a conjugated diene polymer, (b) is a polymer consisting of a conjugated diene and a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon, the total amount of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon in the polymer (b) is no more than 50 wt.% and the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer block accounts for no more than 50 wt.% of the total amount of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon in the polymer (b), and 100 wt.% of asphalt (2).
