Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an asphalt composition having high flame retardancy and preventive effect on droplet to drop and capable of supplying in great quantities at high economical efficiency by mixing asphalt with sludge based on hydrated aluminum hydroxide gel as the flame retardant.
SOLUTION: The sludgebased on hydrated aluminum hydroxide gel is mixed with asphalt, as the flame retardant. The aluminum sludge obtained by separation and recovering from aluminum-containing waste liquid produced from the processing solution for aluminum etching process, produced by immersing and etching aluminum material in an alkaline solution, is preferably used. Hollow fillers or porous fillers may be mixed to reduce the weight and improve the heat insulating properties of the composition. The inorganic hollow spheres of borosilicate glass, etc., are exemplified as the fillers.
