CONSTITUTION: An asphalt improver is prepd. by mixing asphaltite pref. in an amt. of 50-65wt.%, a tackifier pref. in an amt. of 25-35wt.%, and a polymer dispersion pref. in an amt. of 10-25wt.%. A method for improving asphalt is provided wherein asphalt is compounded and kneaded with the improver in such an amt. that the amts. of the asphaltite, tackifier, and polymer dispersion in the resulting improved asphalt are 2.5-13 pts.wt., 1.25-7 pts.wt., and 0.5-5 pts.wt., respectively, based on 100 pts.wt. asphalt.
