Abstract:

To provide an asymmetrical digital subscriber line(ADSL) down high- speed cell bus interface protocol.

In this asymmetrical digital subscriber line(ADSL) down high- speed cell bus interface protocol, an ADSL bank control unit(ABCU) can transmit an ADSL cell packet to a plurality of ADSL line units in the down direction with a high rate down throughput by flexibly and efficiently assigning a bandwidth while reducing the error probability. Since traffic of a conventional old phone service (POTS) with a narrow band can be carried through a frame border of the ADSL frame, the frame border is introduced form a conventional subscriber bus interface(SBI) frame thereby allowing the ABCU and ADSL line units to be mounted with an existing channel bank having a standard channel bank back plane trace.
