Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an attractant for Anomala cuprea Hope which is an insect pest of various field crops and turf, etc., by using a sex pheromone of the Anomala cuprea Hope as a principal ingredient and a sex pheromone of Anomala rufocuprea Motschulsky and a sex pheromone of Popillia japonica Newman in combination.
SOLUTION: This attractant for Anomala cuprea Hope is obtained by using (A) (R,Z) 5-(1-octenyl)oxacyclopentan-2-one which is a sex pheromone of Anomala cuprea Hope as a principal ingredient and further (B) (R,Z) 5-(1-decenyl) oxacyclopentan-2-one that is a sex pheromone of Anomala rufocuprea Motschulsky and (C) methyl (Z)-5-tetradecenoate which is a sex pheromone of Popillia japonica Newman and simultaneously releasing the ingredients B and C therewith. The blending ratio of the three ingredients is preferably 10-100 pts.wt. ingredient B and 10-100 pts.wt. ingredient C based on 100 pts.wt. ingredient A. The attractant is held on a holding unit and the resultant held material is then arranged in an area where insect pests are infested or fly coming to attract the Anomala cuprea Hope.
