To provide an automatic arc welding equipment capable of correctly setting the height of the reinforcement of welding relative to a work to be welded of curved surface by detecting the height of the reinforcement of welding at a metal deposition part to control a weld metal feeding device.

In the automatic arc welding, the height H of the reinforcement B of welding at a metal deposition part D is detected by a reinforcement height detecting device 6. The reinforcement height detecting device 6 is provided with a distant detector 8 to detect the electrostatic capacity C between a detection terminal 6a of the reinforcement height detecting device 6 and the metal deposition part D as a first detector, and a laser type distance detector 9 consisting of a light emitting part and a light emitting part to detect the distance R between the detection terminal 6a and the surface F of the flux which is the inclusion layer on the reinforcement B as a second detector 9a. A welding power source and a feeding device of filter metal are controlled using a control device based on the detected result of the reinforcement height detecting device 6. The control responsiveness to the fluctuation of the reinforcement height is improved to perform the stable welding.
