Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a viewer to view with the optimum black gamma correction according to the video state by providing a black gamma control amount correcting circuit controlling the control amount of the black gamma control circuit according to the control output of the fuzzy black gamma control output decision device.
CONSTITUTION: The fuzzy deduction is performed by obtaining the detection values from detection circuits 4-9 and taking the control index value to evaluate the fuzzy collection from pre-processing circuits 11-16 as input. The output from fuzzy deduction devices 17 to 22 is imparted to the decision device of a fuzzy black gamma control output 23, where the fuzzy black gamma control output is decided as the output of the fuzzy black gamma controller 10. The output from the controller 10 is inputted to the black gamma control amount correcting device correcting the black gamma control amount of the black gamma correcting circuit 2. The black gamma control amount correcting device 2 controls the black gamma correcting amount applied to the luminance signal of the black gamma control circuit 1, maintaining the optimum black gamma control at all times.
